Press Reviews

"PIANO NEWS 04-2010"

"It is no coincidence - and this is clear - that Pervez Mody has made a name for himself with his interpretations of Chopin und primarily Scriabin. ..his clear touch and tone and his brilliant interpretation, which is focused on musical content..."

"KLASSIK-HEUTE"

Mody is a very good pianist and a lusty musician: he masters the technical problems with Esprit, his pedaling is pleasingly slim, but most of all he has a very colorful sound spectrum and an imaginative, improvisational approach to Scriabin's inner worlds. Exemplary succeed him especially the early Préludes Op. 11, who are still under the spell of Chopin's predecessor. Mody fills the 24 miniatures with intensity in all dynamic degrees and finds a place for each piece in the wide area between Chopin and Scriabin. Also admirable, as he explains the malicious manual difficulties of the two Morceaux Op. 9 for the left hand alone in free-breathing melos can transform and in the Poème tragique does not lose in a pompous fussing around

„UNIVERSITAS“

Nr. 6/2010

"What Martha Argerich said about Mody's Scriabin interpretations in general last year also applies to these recordings:

“…I was fascinated by his powerful emotions, the way he conveys the passion, exaltation, the refined erotic and suggestion in Scriabin. He has a deep connection with Scriabin. It was an unforgettable experience!"
