Press Reviews

"AMERICAN RECORDING GUIDE" - Mr. Harrington

"...He is a Pianist to watch for, and I cannot wait for the next volume of Scriabin..."

"BLACK MASS"

NEUEWESTFÄLISCHE ZEITUNG - (Gans)

„..The manner in which he interpreted the four-movement Sonata No. 1 in F minor, Op. 6 in its dramatic culmination up to the tremors experienced in the funeral march with supreme confidence and the nervous eccentricity of Sonata No. 9 with the title "Black Mass" with sublime technique, but also the transcendental quality which he imparts to a powerful an luscious tone - all this singles out Mody as one of the first Scriabin interpreters of our time."

                                                                                                                                                                Translated by Shirin Gazder

"INTOXICATING ECSTASY"

Crescendo - (CS)

"...the sonatas no. 1 and no. 9 (Black Mass) as well as the 10 Mazurkas op. 3 are stirring and intoxicating, presented in shimmering colours and with a sense for the polyphonic defragmentation.....Food for Lovers of intoxicating ecstasy..."

                                                                                                                                                         Translated by Shirin Gazder

KLASSIK-HEUTE.COM 08 / 11

"On the second volume, Pervez Mody also finds an imaginative, highly creative approach to Scriabin. The sonata op. 6, a four-movement monstrosity that begins in a powerful-mezzo-spell-like manner, ultimately leads inexorably towards the impotent agony of the final funeral march. In the certainty of this clear dramaturgical base Mody acts coherent and eloquent. He manages to do a lot of things convincingly: the desperation of the second movement, for example, or the defiant growth of the Presto, which is already showing the first signs of self-destruction. "
